As for people dying, I know there were a lot in the first chapters, but I couldn't write what I wanted to write if Sherlock and John's parents were still around. I suppose it's something else I borrowed from ACD canon. No more deaths in the future, I adore the characters and want to keep them as alive as I possibly can.
