I couldn't not mention the piece of paper again (and again), I love that small piece of paper!

And yeah, friendship... Well at that point John knows he loves Sherlock, but I imagine him being completely touch-starved, so if all he can get from Sherlock are "friendly cuddles", he'll take them :-)
