I thought I understood what you were doing with your poll and why you were doing it. So I appreciated it all the more that you have mentioned in this comment your desire to not have the story overstay it's welcome.
It reminds me of reading a grand old book. Rich with texture and character. Having the feel of an old fable being retold.
Fables must take their course so I voted for the extended version ;)
